Discovering what love is one day at a time
I fix my eyes upon You LORD God, and consider everything a loss,
That I may gain Christ
In order for your Word to be found by my mouth, reached for by my heart,
And heard and heeded by my ears
I do not consider myself to know anything, or desire anything but knowing You;
That I may not sin against you or fall into a pattern of unbelief,
Humiliate me, that I will be hidden in the day of Your anger.
Faith, believes; it is putting our full confidence in the One who is All- Powerful, Perfect, Holy, Righteous, and loves us.
Unbelief…is simply not trusting God, and taking the reins for ourselves…not fearing God, and having pride in our hearts that says God, I have this…and You are a liar.
Adam and Eve were the first to step into unbelief. They believed the serpent, and took their lives into their own hands. Fearing they would miss out rather than fearing the Lord, their hearts were haughty.
God’s Word exposes our heart condition; it shines His light on our sin, and gives us an opportunity for His increase. We have to be willing to expose our own hypocrisy, our own unbelief, our own sin. That is a heart that considers itself dead. The life that it now lives in the flesh it lives by faith in the One who died and gave His life for us.
A haughty heart will have a blind eye and a deaf ear to the gentle whisper, however a humble heart is one that heeds His whisper, obeys and does His will.
His Word always invites us to more…what will you have?
I have been married to my wonderful husband for 24 years. We have two young men ages 20 and 15.. This blog is somewhat of a journal and attempt for me to keep a purposeful perspective on life as a whole.
