Discovering what love is one day at a time
Did you ever think about all of the different insurance plans there are out in the world today to protect against identity theft.
Seriously, what does that say about our world, our economy…our values…We have a system that protects us from others taking our earthly identity…our name, our finances…our credit…
Certainly, it is important to have a roof over your head and a means to care for your family, I am not negating that, but just positioning that idea…next to the thought about what our true identity is…or actually who God says we are, especially if we have believed the truth of who He is.
What/Who then should be our most important thing?
Is it possible, that our unbelief in Jesus Christ, has given our mandated authority over to the ruler of this world…allowing him to wreak havok in our lives…that our own tongue curses our own body, our own flesh, our own brothers and sisters, family members, neighbors, and others across the planet.
That instead of blessing… curses flow out of our mouth…that we shape the world around us. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
Certainly, there has been some identity theft…but how much of it has just been handed over without a fight.
Jesus finished the fight against the powers of darkness. He died so that we might live. He died so that we could have life and live it abundantly. When you put your faith in Jesus Christ…and believe Him, make Him Lord and Master over all of your life.. His word says you become a new creation. You died with Him and also were resurrected with Him. That the power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you.(Not something that your mind can wrap around…just believe it.)
It does not benifit you at all to disagree with what God says about you.It does not benifit you to only agree with some of the commands and part of the bible. It does not benifit you to agree with the whole bible, but not listen to the Holy Spirit and obey Him. In doing so, you lend your authority to the wrong one. Your identity/authority is not then stolen, but handed over or given away.
His word says that He wrote His word on our hearts… We have a responsibility to respond to Him. Yes, we can believe lies and can be deceived, but we have a responsibility to be real with Him about that.
Our enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he can devour, he is a thief and he has come only to steal, kill and destroy, But God, His eyes run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.
So…are you willing to let what the world says about you permeate your heart and shape who you are? Or are you going to seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and be who He has called you to be? Because we are ALL called…Our identity is in Christ.
Let His word define you, refine you, and transform you into who He has called you to be!!
I have been married to my wonderful husband for 22 years. We have two boys ages 18 and 13.. This blog is somewhat of a journal and attempt for me to keep a purposeful perspective on life as a whole.
