Discovering what love is one day at a time
There are so many trains of thought in regards to spirituality. For example, the path to enlightenment…finding your identity…karma… your spirit animal or totem, your color, vibrations, mantras…so many religions…so many ideas…so many rituals so many philosophies based on human tradition. Many which are very legalistic, including the worship of angels, mystical in practice with visions and revelations, worship of spirits and gods, calling for asceticism, and worldly philosophy combining a man made religion trying to sanctify the “believer” through his or her own knowledge and philosophy through the practice of ceremonial rituals.
I am encouraged, and saddened deeply. I am encouraged, because I know that Jesus is the Way the Truth and the Life and no one comes to the Father except through Him. I am saddened, because there are so many that are bound by religion and traditions of men, and have been drawn away, by the simple desire to understand the world we live in, and how we fit in it. There are also so many that try to combine Christ with other philosophies/religion/practices.
I am so encouraged, because God, The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit are One. Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. By Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
In Christ dwells all the fullness of the godhead bodily…I am complete in Christ. I am crucified with Christ, It is not I that live, but Christ that lives within me…the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who died and gave His life for me. He has forgiven me ALL my trespasses and has wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against me and contrary to me. He took it out of the way; He has disarmed all the principalities and powers, and has triumphed over them in it.
We have to look no further when it comes to understanding our identity, our purpose, and how to understand our lives in relationship to the world we live in, because in Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
I am encouraged as well because God is for all. His grace is for all of us. His wisdom is attainable to all that seek Him with their whole heart; God does not separate us into the “spiritual elite” and the “regular people”. The keys to the Kingdom of God are in Christ and Christ alone. Glory be to God.
I have been married to my wonderful husband for 25 years. We have two young men ages 22 and 16.. This blog is somewhat of a journal and attempt for me to keep a purposeful perspective on life as a whole.
