Discovering what love is one day at a time

LET IT HAPPEN

The only thing that truly stands in the way of our relationship with God…is us.  We have the ability to refuse His love in such a way that we do not let Him in.

I find the definition of the word let interesting.  Merriam Webster’s Dictionary points to the origin of let to be Middle English letten, from Old English lettan to delay, hinder; akin to Old High German lezzen to delay hurt, Old English lǣt late.  As a noun it means something that impedes or an obstruction.  As a transitive verb, let means to cause to, or to make.

It is God who has given us the pathway that impedes us from eternal destruction.  For Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him.  He is the Divine obstruction that has closed the door unto Death or our eternal separation from God.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made. In Him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

The Word living in us…breathing His Life through us causing  salvation, justification, and sanctification …being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;

We can be the obstruction,  by refusing, or striving against this amazing  gift of transformation, or we can choose to put to death our flesh, partner with God and His Holy Spirit and let God rule and reign in every area of our lives.

Will we let Him do what He promises? He is faithful in all of His ways.

What is it that is standing in the way of your relationship with God today?
