Discovering what love is one day at a time
LIVE LIFE LOVED...
I love how simple life becomes when we entrust ours unto God. He says we are to trust Him with our whole heart and lean not on our own understanding…in all our ways acknowledge Him and He will direct our paths…He says to delight ourselves in Him and He will give us the desires of our heart…We can find out if we are not delighting in Him simply by looking at our thoughts…what consumes us…what do we think about throughout the whole day?
What if your thoughts are going so fast… that you can’t stop them long enough to get a grip on even one? Have you ever experienced that?
We can simply listen to the words that come out of our mouths… Because out of the abundance of our hearts…our mouths speak…. What do we have the most affection for… what we are striving for, what do we direct our minds to…What is it for you?
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
His Word is so complete. It is bigger than our circumstance, and more stable than any emotion we may ever have. His Word trumps our circumstance…So why, do we ever trust our own emotion, our own thoughts or any reasoning instead of His Word?
We choose to make life more complicated than He has made it for us.
I think for me life gets complicated when I start to think independently without God. It happens when I don’t listen to the Holy Spirit and say “no” when I need to. That is the start of a cascading flesh response to life around me. It’s when the Little Red Hen pipes up and says “I’ll do it myself”…
Life is less complicated when God is making my schedule. He definitely knows what I need; especially since every one of my days were written in His book before any of them came to be…His ways are higher than my ways and His thoughts are higher than my thoughts, and His thoughts for me are more numerous than the grains of sand, and they are all love filled thoughts.
With that in mind, shouldn’t we be able to trust Him with every aspect of our lives? And truly that’s the key…with these thoughts in mind, they will become the thoughts that we treasure, and strive to keep.
I have been married to my wonderful husband for 24 years. We have two young men ages 20 and 15.. This blog is somewhat of a journal and attempt for me to keep a purposeful perspective on life as a whole.
