Discovering what love is one day at a time
It is New Years Eve, and already the newspaper ads are going crazy with work out gear, tubs for organization, and memberships to local fitness clubs. Who does not want to be organized, fit, and trim? Truthfully, all that doesn’t really matter if your heart does not have His peace. You can work your tail off to keep your house in perfect order, your body with a six pack and no under-arm flab, and reach your “high school weight, “ but without the peace that surpasses understanding, you will never be satisfied.
Perhaps its time to lose the weight that so easily ensnares you. Maybe its just time to start agreeing with God about who He says you are.
Maybe you have been in a season of your life that you are plagued by a thought every day as you get out of bed. This thought keeps your focus wrapped around it, and it won’t let you stray too far from it... It is not an encouraging thought to you, and it really is not building you up. Are you tired of listening to this thought? Do you want to break free from it?
Ask yourself…Is this thought contrary to what God says about me? Is this thought contrary to His Word?
If it is, it is time to stand. Time to stand up to the thought and not agree with it. Time to replace it with the truth. The truth of God’s Word. Drop the dead weight; you do not need to carry it around any longer. Besides, this thought, should not be in the number one position in your head and heart. Cast down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. Truly you will have an organized mind when you do not allow those thoughts that are contrary to His Word to reign in your mind and heart. It is so important to trim off the excess, the excessive thoughts that do not have any benefit to your health and well-being. When you put your faith in Christ Jesus and what He did for you on the cross, He makes you new. The old has passed away. He has not given you a spirit of fear, to allow binding thoughts to rule in your heart and mind. He has given you power love and a sound mind. Its time to stand. Whatever He shows you that you are battling against, He has also given you the grace to get to the other side of it; but you have to walk in agreement with Him. You can do this... You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you!
