Discovering what love is one day at a time
One of the things I loved when I was teaching kindergarten was watching the children discover how to do new things. Each child learned in a different way.Providing opportunities for them to discover by pressing into their own learning was interesting to watch and definitely a challenge for my finite brain.
Do you ever wonder why we are geared to delight in the process of learning and discovery? Think about...the celebration that comes when we take something apart and recreate somehing completely different...or even successfully putting it together again...discovering the details...the working parts, the process of how they work together...the revelatory moment when a trigonometry formula..or the toy assembly instructions actually make sense.....the joy in the process of discovering part of the mystery...the hidden details that may be hidden to you but not to your neighbor.....and the discovery of the amazing talents that each of us possess...and the beauty that arises from the giftings of each of us collaborating with one another, supporting one another, as we discover the mysteries hidden in our daily lives...our work places and hidden and revealed in the One we know as Christ...the mystery...that continues to draw us closer to one another as we draw closer to Him...and the mystery that we have even more questions than we did when we started...but now these are questions of wonder and awe vs questions laced with distrust.
Mysteries that delight the senses, create a hunger for the revelation, and an insatiable appetite for the more..the understanding, the filling, the love that drew us in in the first place...the mystery of the love, the mercy that is beyond our ability to wrap our mind around...because the Cross in all its simplicity defies our finite way of looking at this life that we live in the here and now...and yet..the Cross....our eternal redemption....
as we lean into that Cross...we discover...our great need....we discover a mystery revealed...a great...constant...undeniable....unfalliable...relentless...powerful...beautiful..love.......one that chases after us all the days of our lives...and encourages us to chase after Him.....may we all press in...and delight in the process...for as long as we have breath.......
I have been married to my wonderful husband for 25 years. We have two young men ages 22 and 16.. This blog is somewhat of a journal and attempt for me to keep a purposeful perspective on life as a whole.
