Discovering what love is one day at a time

TWEAKED...

TWEAKED...sometimes...we are plucked out of a heavenly perspective because we have chosen to agree with the way the world/our current culture’s way of looking at things. Simply put, we have believed lies; unless our perspective is submitted to God’s perspective/God’s Truth, our perspective is going to be tweaked a little bit. (The problem with that is it’s tweaked.)

It may sound right at first. It may feel right at first.  Yet the tweaked perspective helps us to self-justify and rationalize out our reasons for our feelings actions and behavior. Honestly, that just doesn't end well. The truth is, it can't end well...because...unless it is in alignment with God and His Kingdom... (It’s not...And it lacks in love)...and without love...we really do not progress....and we hurt others and ourselves.

We are told to clothe ourselves in love, agape love...love that loves no matter what…no matter if we are treated the way that we desire to be treated...or not...this love always protects the other, always.

When something happens in our lives and it affects our most tender...raw...intimate part of our heart...we are still to love with that agape love...no walls are to be erected to keep others out...no fences...no barriers.  Remember how the Word says that when we are weak He is strong? He has asked us to do the impossible...He also gives us the ability to allow Him to do something supernatural and absolutely magnificent to someone else. (Love them with His love)...and when we have experienced that kind of love...we want to share it with EVERYONE!

When we feel we need to protect a raw, vulnerable and intimate area in our heart...we can step into self-pity. Self-pity is a feeling of pity for ourselves, based on the lie that we believe that we have suffered more than is fair or reasonable; it also can be a self-indulgent dwelling on our own mishaps, sorrows or misfortunes. Basically self-pity is a mask for pride and mistrust of God and it is a hiding place. We can choose to wear self-pity as an accessory, a whole outfit, or a blanket covering us from head to toe. However God calls us to cut off, or put to death those things that are carnal and walk in the Spirit.  God never gives us an assignment without equipping us for the task before us...we have to be willing to look at what surfaces in our hearts in every circumstance, dealing with our own crud so that we can truly be vessels of his pure love...bringing  His fullness.

He is our Shield, our Defender, and our Stronghold. He will fight for us.  We are hidden in Christ.  There is no other place that we need to be, but under the shadow of His wings. He is our Refuge and our Hiding Place.
